Steve Adubato is joined by George Helmy, EVP, Chief External Affairs and Policy Officer, RWJBarnabas Health, to discuss the key areas a candidate needs to prioritize to make a successful shift from campaigning to becoming a new governor.

Steve talks with Helmy, former chief of staff to Governor Murphy, about what needs to be done in a transition from campaign to governing. Helmy says the transition from campaigning to governing requires immediately focusing on how to run the state’s large operation of 60,000 employees and a $60 billion budget. The key tasks include identifying the governor’s priorities and how to implement them, building a fully functional front office, and making critical cabinet and sub-cabinet appointments to carry out the governor’s mission.
