The Charles Seller Foundation: Into the Woods

INTO THE WOODS: PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
The Charles Seller Foundation, based in Bloomfield Nj, proudly presents its summer musical Into the Woods for the benefit of Gino DeVito. Gino is a 5 year old boy from Nutley, New Jersey. Gino has been diagnosed with SATB-2 associated syndrome, a condition so rare there are only approximately 550 recorded cases. SATB2-associated syndrome can affect multiple bodily systems and is characterized by cranio-facial abnormalities, hypotonia, severe speech problems, dental abnormalities, behavioral problems, significant developmental delays, difficulty eating, poor growth, risk for seizures, visual complications and cardiac complications.
Every year, the foundation selects an individual from our community who is facing medical challenges as our beneficiary for that coming year. The funds raised primarily from the organization’s summer musical go to our beneficiary to help offset medical costs. In 1950, a young man named Charles Seller was struck by a train and lost one of his legs. His family and friends collaborated to put on a variety show titled “Talent
Time” to aid in his medical costs. This tradition started in Bloomfield, NJ, and is a 76-year-old running 501(c) non-profit organization.
The Charles Seller Foundation’s production of Into the Woods will be presented on July 30 , July 31 , August 1 , August 6 , August 7 , & August 8 at 7:30pm and August 1 & August 8 at 2:00pm at Bloomfield High School (160 Broad St. Bloomfield, NJ 07003).
