Trevor Izzo and Eric Rhoades Announce Candidacy for Readington Township Committee

READINGTON, NJ – Republicans Trevor Izzo and Eric Rhoades of Readington Township announced today that they are running for the Readington Township Committee in the 2026 election.

“We are running to bring common sense, accountable leadership to Readington,” Izzo and Rhoades said in a joint statement. “As longtime residents and local business owners, we understand the issues facing Readington taxpayers. Our priorities will be responsible budgeting that will make Readington more affordable for families and local businesses, transparent decision making, supporting police and first responders, and strategically preserving open space.”

We are also committed to addressing Readington’s state-mandated affordable housing obligations in a practical, common-sense way. New Jersey law requires compliance, but we will pursue solutions that minimize impacts on our schools, protect taxpayers from unnecessary burdens, and preserve the township’s character while steering clear of years of costly and divisive litigation that drains resources and divides our community. Affordable housing should be built through smart redevelopment, not by fueling suburban sprawl that further destroys our already strained infrastructure, increases traffic, and drives up local taxes. Through insightful prioritization of sites and practical planning with every tool at our disposal, we will fulfill these requirements in a responsible manner that avoids overburdening infrastructure and keeps costs down for our residents.

Trevor Izzo is a lifelong resident of Readington Township and is the owner of a local H.V.A.C company and has served Readington Township and Central New Jersey for more than 25 years. He has served on the Readington Township Planning Board since 2023. “This past year, working in the H.V.A.C industry, I saw firsthand how Trenton’s failed energy polices translated into higher energy bills,” Izzo said. “On the Township Committee, I will fight to make Readington more affordable for all of us.”

Eric Rhoades is a local business owner and entrepreneur who has lived in Readington for 20 years and currently serves on the Readington Planning Board. “Readington’s open space is part of what makes our township special,” Rhodes said. “We can continue to Preserve Open Space while being fiscally responsible, with transparent planning, using all available funding tools so taxpayers are protected while we preserve Readington’s character for future generations.”

Voters are encouraged to support Trevor Izzo and Eric Rhoades in the Republican Primary Election on June 2, 2026.
