U.S. Senator Cory Booker Endorses Nick Veliky, Orlando Cruz for County Commissioner and Zoila Cassanova for Surrogate
Woodland Park, NJ-- U.S. Senator Cory Booker today announced his endorsement of Nick Veliky and Orlando Cruz for Passaic County Commissioner in the upcoming June 2nd Democratic Primary. He also endorsed Surrogate Zoila Cassanova for re-election.
Senator Booker said Veliky and Cruz are leaders who are deeply connected to their communities and committed to public service.
“Nick Veliky and Orlando Cruz have shown a strong commitment to serving their communities and bringing people together to get things done. They understand the challenges families face and are focused on building stronger, more connected communities. I’m proud to support them, along with Surrogate Zoila Cassanova, who has served Passaic County families with compassion and integrity.”
Veliky and Cruz thanked Senator Booker for his support and said they will continue engaging with voters across the county.
“We’re grateful for Senator Booker’s support and inspired by his leadership. We’re focused on delivering real results, keeping Passaic County affordable, strengthening services, and making sure government works for everyone.”
Surrogate Zoila Cassanova also thanked Senator Booker for his support.

The June 2nd Democratic Primary will determine the party’s nominees for County Commissioner and Surrogate.
The endorsement adds to the growing list of supporters backing the Passaic County Democratic Committee team, including Governor Mikie Sherrill, legislators, county officials, mayors, councilmembers, and Democratic leaders from across Passaic County.
