UTCA STATEMENT ON GATEWAY TUNNEL PAYMENT BEING MADE BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

WALL – Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) Chief Executive Officer David Rible issued the following statement today regarding the federal government resuming payment of funds for the Gateway Tunnel project:
“It never should have gotten this far. It never should have gotten to a point where hard-working men and women saw their jobs put on the line. But now, at least, we can move on and resume the necessary work of building Gateway. This is the most important infrastructure project of our lifetime and should never be held up by gamesmanship again. I thank Governor Sherrill for fighting for these dollars and want her to know UTCA’s members are ready, willing and able to get Gateway across the finish line.”
