VNA Health Group Earns First-Ever 5-Star CMS Patient Experience Rating

South Region receives highest possible rating from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; three additional VNA Health Group home health regions earn 4 stars

NEPTUNE, NJ (September 14, 2026) – VNA Health Group has earned its first-ever 5-Star Patient Experience Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), with its South Region receiving the highest possible rating based on feedback from the people and families it serves.

The milestone comes as VNA Health Group continues to earn strong patient experience ratings across its home health operations. Its Englewood, Barnabas Health North, and Robert Wood Johnson regions each received 4-Star Patient Experience Ratings in the latest CMS results.

“Earning our first 5-star rating is an important milestone because it comes directly from the people and families we care for,” said Christopher Rinn, President and CEO of VNA Health Group. “Providing excellent care at home takes an entire team, from the clinicians working with people in their homes to the colleagues supporting them behind the scenes.”

CMS publishes home health star ratings through Medicare Care Compare to help consumers evaluate and compare Medicare-certified home health agencies. Patient Survey Star Ratings are based on the standardized HHCAHPS Survey, which measures areas including communication, professionalism, and overall patient experience. Agencies receive a summary rating ranging from one to five stars, with five stars representing the highest rating.

VNA Health Group provides home health services through partnerships with major New Jersey hospitals and health systems. These partnerships include VNA of Central Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Visiting Nurses, VNA of Englewood, and Barnabas Health Home Care, combining VNA Health Group’s home health expertise with the clinical resources of its hospital and health system partners.

VNA Health Group's South Region has also recently been recognized for its hospice care. Barnabas South Hospice was named a 2025 SHPBest Superior Performer for patient experience by Strategic Healthcare Programs, an annual recognition based on Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Hospice Survey results.

“Whether someone is recovering at home, managing a serious illness, or navigating end-of-life care with their family, the experience they have with our team matters,” Rinn added. “These results tell us what we’re doing well and where we can do better, and we’ll use that feedback to keep improving how we care for people and families.”
