Senator Wimberly Responds to Trump Wanting to Use American Cities as a Military Training Ground

PATERSON - If Donald Trump carries out his plan to use America's cities to train the military (that's what he told a roomful of generals earlier this week), Silk City could find its streets replete with tanks, halftracks and (very slim) marching men in uniform.
State Senator Benjie Wimberly (D-35), a legendary football coach here in his hometown, who has spent a lifetime training and working with young people in sport, had a response to the militarization of America.
"It's insulting to Americans," the senator told InsiderNJ. "It's a show of force on your own people not where it's needed. You should be figuring out how to get money into policing and community policing to avert some of the issues we face with regard to crime."
Watch (THE FULL!) interview with the senator on this subject, as well as his reaction to the federal shutdown and how it impacts Paterson.
