Senators Partner for Bipartisan Civility Tour After Kirk Killing

Senator Jon Bramnick (R-21) announced that he’ll be joining Senator Joe Cryan (D-20) in a series of public debates aimed at college students to highlight civility in politics and promote lowering the temperature of political rhetoric.

The “New Jersey College Civility Tour” comes in the wake of the horrific assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

“I’ve advocated for teaching civility in our public schools and institutions and now we’re going to apply this practice on college campuses,” said Sen. Bramnick. “These debates will emphasize the importance of treating others with dignity and respect, even when we have differing views, and will show that we can disagree and still be friends.”

In October of 2024, Senator Bramnick introduced legislation to establish a joint legislative statesman task force to help promote civility and civil discourse to students in kindergarten through grade 12.
