Shawn Klein Running for Essex County Commissioner
Livingston Mayor Shawn Klein today formally announced his candidacy for Essex County Commissioner.
An experienced local representative, and a doctor by trade, Klein said in an email, "I am excited to announce I will be running for Essex County Commissioner At-Large. I want to deeply thank and acknowledge my predecessor, mentor, and dear friend Commissioner Patricia Sebold who has announced her support for my run. I will certainly be leaning on her 33 years of experience in that position to do my best to serve all of Essex."
From a TapInto article earlier this year on the occasion of Klein, an ophthalmologist, assuming the oath of office again in his hometown:
"Klein, who has previously served as Livingston’s mayor in 2017 and 2021, was elected unanimously by the council.
"In nominating him, council member Michael Vieira described Klein as 'somebody with a deep love for this town and a person with a proven record of service.'
"A lifelong Livingston resident, Klein graduated from Livingston High School in 1991."
