In response to the news that U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew is hovering at the edge of changing parties, President Donald J. Trump egged him on in a Sunday tweet.

“Wow, that would be big. Always heard Jeff is very smart!” tweeted Trump, who faces impeachment by the U.S. House of Representatives before the end of the year.

Van Drew is one of two Democrats nationwide who voted against the impeachment inquiry, and went on record this past week in opposition to impeachment.
