With DNC Chair Martin at His Side, Mullock Makes His CD-2 Case for Strong, Bipartisan Leadership

MILLVILLE - Fortified by strong early returns, Democrats here found another reason to celebrate the CD-2 candidacy of Zack Mullock ahead of the Nov. 3rd election when DNC Chairman Ken Martin appeared at the home of party diehard Rachel Green.

Martin was here on Halloween apparently to give a fright to U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-2). The Democratic National Committee Chairman, of course, backs Mullock, who on Tuesday hopes to unseat the Republican incumbent in this hard-fought South Jersey contest.
For every bumblebee or Winnie the Pooh lumbering around the neighborhood in search of candy, Mullock backers looked eager to hit the doors with another purpose in mind: Mullock Campaign lit distribution.
A sharp-elbowed campaigner, Mullock wasted no time smacking Van Drew as soon as he walked into the Green home and joined Martin at the front of a packed room.
"My opponent has passed two laws in office," Mullock declared. "You know what the first one was? Renaming a post office. You know what the second one was? Renaming a post office."
The crowd lapped it up.

"This area - South Jersey - has aways been a purple area," the Cape May Mayor added. "It always had a purple streak. We had Congressman [Bill] Hughes [a Democrat] and Congressman [Frank] LoBiondo [a Republican]."
They were moderate, Mullock noted.
"You know when a piece of legislation gets passed, you get a pen from the president.
Those gentlemen had many pens from the president because they got bipartisan work done. That is not happening right now. We need bipartisanship to get accomplished good laws."
Martin made similar comments, lingering on Van Drew's political affection for the sitting president, the abysmal job approval-mired Donald Trump.
In the past, Martin said, "Despite policy differences, there were things that united us, like respect for the Constitution and respect for due process and the rule of law. Respect for an independent judiciary and free press and the abiding belief that we would stand with our allies around the world. Just a few values that united us. Now we have one guy in the White House ripping up the Constitution and trampling on the rights people died for."
