In a big night for New Jersey Democrats, another battleground incumbent has prevailed.

Senator Andrew Zwicker (D-16) defeated Republican challenger Mike Pappas.

Assemblyman Roy Freiman (D-16), Zwicker’s running mate, also won, as did slate newcomer Mitchelle Drulis.

This was a competitive battleground district with larger statewide implications.

Zwicker, a powerful player in Trenton with higher political aspirations, took care of business tonight.
