20-Year-Old Elizabeth Community Leader Runs for Council At-Large

Little
Progressive activist Kason Little today submitted his petitions to run for an at-large city council seat in the City of Elizabeth. That pits him against the allies of Mayor Chris Bollwage: incumbent Councilpeople Patricia Perkins-Auguste, Manny Grova, and Frank Cuesta, all of whom are up this year, the long-serving mayor included.
“The ongoing pandemic has rocked our world, country, and our beloved town to its core. Our neighbors have lost jobs, they’ve lost income, and they’ve lost any since of security,” said Little. “Now, more than ever we need strong leadership that can hold things together before they fall completely apart. We need leadership who will listen and fight to address the concerns of everybody, not just a select few. I am announcing my candidacy for city council at large and announcing that I will be the one who will represent all.”
Little ran unsuccessfully ffor school board last year.
“To assure you I meet the qualifications as your candidate for City Council -At Large, I want to share with you that I meet the age experience, have an ongoing commitment to helping people as well as having an active involvement in community and building unity. I was born and raised here in our  City of Elizabeth and I plan on remaining here to meet the needs for our city and make it successful again,” he said today. “Without holding the title, our community already knows my  love for people, my ability to listen to concerns, as well as value your opinions, I will continue to do so and more when elected as your Council Member-At-Large for the City of Elizabeth.  I am proud to also include that I will be bracketed under Bernie Sanders for President and teaming up with Jared Pietz for Mayor.”
