BELLEVILLE - A fire in a mattress factory turned this working-class Essex County town upside down on the second to last Sunday prior to Election Day, where Mayor Michael Melham seeks reelection on his record and challenger Councilman Frank Velez wants to take Belleville in a new direction.

Melham was all over Washington Avenue this afternoon as firefighters remained engaged two days after the devastating blaze.

He took time to talk with InsiderNJ.
