Booker Leaps into LD39 with Endorsements of Longshot Dems

The latest Monmouth University Poll shows New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and former hedge fund manager Tom Steyer tied at 2 percent support among South Carolina Democrats.

U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) today formally endorsed Linda Schwager for State Senate and Jannie Chung and Annie Hausmann for Assembly in LD39.

“I grew up in the 39th District and I am proud to support Linda Schwager, Jannie Chung, and Annie Hausmann in their effort to flip the 39th,” said Booker. “Linda, Jannie, and Annie will fight for the issues I know this district cares about – protecting our environment, investing in our crumbling infrastructure, and boosting New Jersey’s economy.”

“We are lucky to have Cory Booker as our junior Senator and are honored to have received his endorsement,” said Schwager.

Councilwoman Jannie Chung added, “To receive Senator Booker’s endorsement as we run for his home legislative district is truly moving.” Assembly candidate Annie Hausmann added, “We look forward to serving in Trenton and serving the people of New Jersey – just as Senator Booker has served New Jersey well in Washington, D.C. We are proud to have Senator Booker’s support as we flip the 39th district.”

Schwager, Chung, and Hausmann are respectively running against Gerald Cardinale, Robert Auth, and Holly Schepisi.
