Ahead of tomorrow’s election, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) did a late robocall for Assemblyman Nicholas Chiaravalloti in LD31.
The New Jersey Education Association has pumped some cash into the district in support of challenger Kristen Zadriga-Hart of Jersey City. The union’s snub is directed at the charter schools-supporting Assemblywoman Angela McKnight (D-31), Chiaravalloti’s running mate.
The teacher’s union supports Chiaravalloti, but jitters have set in among some Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) players who note Bayonne’s less than politically advantageous position in LD31.
With a Jersey City war going on between McKnight and Zadroga-Hart, Chiaravalloti’s allies want to make sure voters don’t forget about Bayonne, where Ciaravalloti ally Mayor Jimmy Davis (pictured, below) faces reelection next year.
So Booker has swung in with an attempt to ignite voters – including voters in wards A and F – for Chiaravalloti.
