Veteran operative Maisha Scudder will be Mayor Frank Gilliam’s chief of staff.

Scudder worked for U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) going back to 2013, when Booker State Director Mo Butler hired the young African American woman to work in the Senator’s South Jersey office.

She is generally regarded as a smart and tough player.
