BREAKING: Menendez Asks for a Mistrial

NEWARK – Defense attorneys for Sen. Bob Menendez and Dr. Salomon Melgen are moving for mistrial based on both judicial and prosecutorial misconduct, Melgen attorney Kirk Ogrosky said in court today.

The move comes after a jam-packed morning that already saw favorable character testimony from two U.S. senators and the Democratic lawyer behind the infamous dossier on Russian dirt on President Donald Trump being dismissed as a witness by the judge.
“I am saying we have been precluded from putting on a defense,” Ogrosky told Judge William Walls.
Ogrosky identified several areas in which he said Walls had faltered, including repeatedly instructing jurors on the issues outside the scope of the trial’s inquiry and preventing the defense from cross-examining government witnesses.
Walls was hearing arguments on the motion outside the presence of the jury as of noon today.
