Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco (R-25) released the following statement regarding the resignation of BPU Commissioner Marian Abdou:

“I thank Commissioner Marian Abdou for her service on the Board of Public Utilities and wish her the very best as she steps away to focus on her family. While I respect her decision and wish her well, this transition presents a critical opportunity for the state. We must appoint someone to the BPU who will make energy affordability and increased generation a top priority. New Jerseyans are struggling with rising energy bills, and we need leadership that’s focused on bringing more reliable sources like natural gas and nuclear online to reduce costs.”
