CD-2 Flashpoint: Mullock Says Internal Polling has him within 1 Point of Van Drew

Zack Mullock started the day early this morning in Vineland where he addressed labor allies readying to go pound doors for the 2nd Congressional District Democrat.
"You all know how important this is," Mullock told an enthusiastic crowd of supporters. "You all know this is going to come down to the wire. Our internal polling shows that we're within one, which is huge."
The crowd responded favorably.

Among the union reps present: AFSME, SEIU, NJEA, and others from the South Jersey Central Labor Council.
Mullock zeroed in on Vineland.
"Your vote is going to be huge," he said. "It could change the seat and flip the House of
Representatives."
The Mayor of Cape May running on a message of bipartisan competency, Mullock in his bid to oust incumbent U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-2) earlier this month drew the attention of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
“No Values Jeff Van Drew is everything wrong with politics, and Jerseyans are fed up with his penchant for putting political expediency over his constituents. He is a spineless politician who prioritizes tax breaks for the wealthiest few while gutting health care and raising costs for his constituents. That’s why they’ll send him packing next month,” DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene said on Oct. 2nd.
Ron Filan, campaign manager and director of political affairs for Van Drew, said their campaign's internal polling tell a different story.
"Every cycle the Democrats get together, commission a fake poll saying this seat is in play to use as a fundraising ploy, and every year Congressman Van Drew proves them wrong – this is nothing new,” said Filan. “We predicted back in June they would follow this same playbook and appreciate them proving us right."
