Cory Booker Wins Reelection to the United States Senate

Cory Booker will declare his 2028 presidential candidacy in Bergen tonight, a Bergen insider cracked shortly before the polls closed at 8 p.m.

On the other side of eight, Booker pocketed the perfunctory statewide sweat-free victory in an utterly uneventful contest, knocking off Republican nominee Justin Murphy.

Basically running a nice guy candidacy, highlighting Facebook reels of people performing global good works, Booker - the former mayor of Newark first elected to the Senate in 2013 - stood in stark contrast to the embattled sitting president, a walking poster boy for human misery intent on projecting his own mortal meltdown into world devastation.

Booker was more than just nice, though.

The senior senator of New Jersey, too, showed a flinty side on the Senate Judiciary Committee, deflating Trump's FBI director in an epic takedown and supplying a steady diet of "Dems can be tough too, dammit" social moment moments.

"That 21 county tour he did was good," an insider told InsiderNJ over coffee this morning, trying to find something to get excited about as she sized up the statewide scenery.

"It's the first time I can't remember the name of the guy running against Cory," someone else told InsiderNJ. Then the source added, "But he did well in the debate," referring to Murphy.
