Coughlin ‘Plants the Flag’ in BurlCo with Battleground Dems from around NJ

Coughlin, in gear.

Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-19) and Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-6) last night co-hosted a Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee (DACC) event last night at the Westampton Deerwood Country Club.

LD7 was also there. Local Mayor John Wisniewski was in attendance along with other local elected officials.

Featured were candidates from all the battlegrounds or near-battlegrounds: LD8 39, 38, 25, 21, and 1.

Shortly after the speaker walked in, everyone around the bar paused to watch the “fire Ryan Peters” commercial playing on the bar screen.

Assemblyman Ryan Peters (R-8) is running for reelection with Sheriff Jean Stanfield. The Republicans are opposed by attorneys Gina LaPlaca and Mark Natale, who welcomed Coughlin to their home county last night.

“We held the event in LD 8 for a reason,” said DACC senior adviser Mickey Quinn. “We are planting a flag in the final days of the race that says we intend to run though the tape in every district in the state. The fact that candidates from places like LDs 8, 21, 25 and 39 attended on a rainy night in Burlington County is a testament to the dedication they are putting into their races and it shows the unity of purpose that the Democratic Assembly Caucus has created under Speaker Coughlin and Majority Leader Greenwald.

“November 5th will be a good night for Democrats in the State Assembly,” Quinn added. “We look forward to meeting with architects to blow out the back wall of the caucus after we add new seats.”
