Deflecting on Gun Debate, Guadagno Refers to Wiz Worries During Dem Primary About Guns-Goldman Overlap

The Guadagno Campaign today shot back at Phil Murphy after the Democratic candidate for governor excoriated his opponent – and Republicans in general – over what he said was their subservience to the National Rifle Association (NRA) and gun manufacturing interests.
Contacted for comment, Guadagno Spokesman Ricky Diaz said, “It’s sad to see him playing politics with a national tragedy, especially considering members of his own party attacked Phil Murphy for personally profiting off the sale of ‘assault weapons’ while working at Goldman Sachs.”
Diaz referred to an argument made by Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-19) during the Democratic Primary.
“He has personally profited off guns,” the Wisniewski Campaign said then on the subject. “Murphy served in a position of authority at Goldman Sachs for 23 years and never once publicly spoke out about the manufacture of guns — despite Goldman making billions by investing and partnering with some of the biggest gun makers in the country.” Wisniewski has since endorsed Murphy for governor.
Diaz added to his initial statement.
“We already have the third strictest gun laws in the country,” the Guadagno spokesman said. “As a former sheriff, Kim Guadagno knows not to play politics with public safety and instead will ensure we impose harsher penalties and invest in mental health services.”

  1. Thus, not only is Murphy a fraud with his campaign promises he can’t fulfill, but he’s a hypocrite as well.
