Fetterman Leaps into the U.S. Senate Contest in NJ

Today, Congressman Andy Kim (D-NJ) announced endorsements from Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman and Democratic Representatives Brendan Boyle (PA-02), Madeleine Dean (PA-04), Dwight Evans (PA-03), Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05), and Susan Wild (PA-07), as he seeks to become the next U.S. Senator from New Jersey.

“To have someone who is a sitting senator, who knows the job, knows the role of a legislator at this moment, and also just understands the crazy, chaotic moment that we live in right now, that’s something that stands out, and I’m glad to have his support,” said Kim. “I’m also proud to have the support of my colleagues in the House from Pennsylvania. Our states share a lot of businesses, workers, families, and resources; and we confront a lot of challenges where we need to work together. I’m grateful that they’re looking across the Delaware River, seeing what’s happening in New Jersey, and wanting to step up and support our people-powered campaign.”

“Congressman Andy Kim is a man of integrity and deep honor. We’ve seen that in his leadership — in the Obama administration and in Congress. We saw it when he rolled up his sleeves to clean up our Capitol after the January 6th insurrection. And we’re seeing it now, taking on powerful political bosses as he fights to restore integrity to the Senate,” said Fetterman. “I am incredibly proud to endorse Andy Kim for Senate. And I feel very secure knowing that he has no gold bars underneath his mattress and won’t ever be accused of being a foreign agent for Egypt or Qatar.”

“I’m proud to announce my support of Andy Kim as he runs for the U.S. Senate in New Jersey,” said Evans. “Andy is a true public servant and he has a quality of character that we wish all of our elected officials would embody. This race is extremely critical to maintain our senate majority and I know that Andy will work day and night to keep this seat blue.”

“Andy Kim is a good friend and wonderful colleague and I’m proud to endorse him for U.S. Senate,” said Wild. “I know what it takes to win tough races; Andy is proven, battle tested, and he can always be trusted to do the right thing. From protecting reproductive freedom to ensuring America stands up for democracy at home and abroad, there’s too much at stake to get this wrong. Andy is the leader New Jersey needs right now and I look forward to seeing his voice and leadership in the U.S. Senate.”

First elected to Congress in 2018 at the age of 36, three-term Congressman Andy Kim is one of the younger members to serve in Congress and is the first Asian American elected to federal office from New Jersey. If elected to the Senate, Kim would be the 4th youngest Senator and the first Asian American elected to the Senate from the entire east coast of America. In 2018 and 2020, Kim defeated two self-funding millionaires in a district carried by former President Trump, and in 2022 Kim defeated his third self-funding millionaire opponent by 12 points.

In his three terms in Congress, Kim said he has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families and help support small businesses through challenging times. Kim said he has also been a leading champion in fighting against corruption in our broken politics.

  1. Totally a red herring article. Something about Fetterman but, the article is a total endorsement of his opponent.

Guess what news agency telepathically endorsed which candidate they liked.

I’ll get my news from another sources.

  2. Every town, city and state where democrats are in charge is a crime infested dump. We are at the threshold of losing our country to socialism. Vote the democrats out of office like your life depends on it because it does!
