Fiocchi Takes the Helm as New ABC President

The Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. New Jersey (ABC NJ) today announced that former Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi is the group’s new President, noting his “wealth of public and private sector experience over his career.”

South Jersey’s Fiocchi successfully ran the family’s irrigation business, serving domestic and international clients for over 35 years, and was elected as a representative in both state and county government.

“Sam is a proven leader who is more than ready to step into his new role,” said Michael Russo, Chairman of the ABC NJ Board. “His professional demeanor and grasp of critical matters important to the industry give him a full understanding of the needs of merit shop owners throughout the state. We are confident he has the vision and experience to both grow the organization and lead our members into the future.”

Sam Fiocchi was born and raised in Vineland and attended St. Augustine Preparatory School and Widener University. He is currently a member of the City of Vineland Planning Board and a previous member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2009-2011. In addition, he served as an Assemblyman from the 1st Legislative District from 2014-2016, and as a member of the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 2011-2013.

Fiocchi is also very active in the community with a variety of cultural, spiritual, youth, and professional groups. He is currently a member of the Italian American Benevolent Association, the North Italy Society, the St. Augustine Alumni Association Board of Governors, the Ocean City Board of Realtors, and is a Lector at St. Padre Pio Parish in Vineland and Holy Trinity Parish in Longport. He is a benefactor for the Boy Scouts, a former coach in various youth leagues, is a Charter Member of the Rain Bird Corporation National Advisory Council and served as past President of the New Jersey Irrigation Association.

“I am excited to take on this role with ABC New Jersey and thank them for the opportunity to promote and advocate on behalf of the merit shop construction industry,” Fiocchi said. “As we move beyond the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, I want to ensure our current members have the ability to achieve the highest levels of individual and company performance in an environment of fair and open competition, while also working to bring in new members which will strengthen our voice with policymakers.”
