Gill in Gear on the Ground

PARSIPPANY - "We're on track to win this election."

That was Brendan Gill's upbeat message as he dropped into his Morris County headquarters Thursday afternoon to talk to volunteers.

As Gill made the rounds, supporters continued to make calls on his behalf. Since he was there, Gill was able to speak to one voter himself.

To state the obvious, this is a tough election to figure. Polling has been sparse.

A big part of Gill's campaign is his activist background in Essex County and state politics.

And guess what, he's not going anywhere.

No matter tonight's outcome, he said he plans to stay involved.

Of course, those who lose tonight - and there will be 10 who do - will have a chance to run again in the regular cycle beginning with the June primary.

Gill, not surprisingly, didn't say if he would do that, stressing that he's concentrating on winning this election in CD-11. That's all.

Gill said if he doesn't win, he would support whoever does win.
