Green Party leader Madelyn Hoffman will run for the U.S. Senate in 2020, hoping to unseat Cory Booker, who will be running for reelection.
“I am starting earlier this time,” Hoffman told Insider NJ.
The candidate ran last year against U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ). She received 25,150 votes or less than one percent.
Asked what her beef was with Booker, Hoffman said there are several.
“First is education in Newark. Second is water contamination in Newark. Third is support for increased military spending. Fourth is position against BDS with support for federal legislation making it a crime to support BDS,” Hoffman said.
“Fifth, association with Norcross,” she added. “Sixth, right now divided loyalties, running for president and U.S. Senate at the same time.”
She will also run on Green Party issues, including the real Green New Deal and improved Medicare for All.
