Greenwald Goes off on ‘TrumpCare’

The Gold Dome.

Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald (D-6) released the following statement Monday after new details emerged on changes being made to the Affordable Care Act by Congress:

“TrumpCare would leave 24 million more Americans without insurance, about 70 percent of those who gained insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Nearly 800,000 New Jerseyans got covered in 2016, and we’ve seen a record drop in our uninsured rate, dropping from 12.3% in 2013 to a mere 4.3% this past year.

“New Jerseyans need a better plan for our healthcare going forward, one that ensures coverage for all Garden State residents. The President’s plan hurts too many Americans.

“We already have a plan in place that used the expertise of leaders in their fields to make our healthcare better and guarantee coverage for all Americans.  We can’t afford to lose the ground we’ve gained under the Affordable Care Act.   To replace this simply for the sake of replacing it is fruitless and harmful to millions of Americans.”
