Guadagno’s Sanctuary State Ad Motivates 32BJ SEIU-Affiliated Weekend Surge

Fueled by messaging from the other side, an independent expenditure by 32BJ SEIU in collaboration with Make the Road Action in New Jersey in support of Phil Murphy for Governor is targeting Latino voters this weekend.

According to Rachel Cohen, deputy communications director for the union, 73,000 person-to-person text messages will go out to Latino voters that include a link to a video message in English and Spanish: http://www.seiu32bj.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/864241057.mp4 and http://www.seiu32bj.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/864135715.mp4

The effort includes 32BJ members canvassing for Murphy statewide, Cohen said, while Make the Road Action has also mobilized volunteers to get out the vote for the Democrat. Cohen said the Guadagno Campaign’s sanctuary state ad motivated the labor outfit to make the case to Latinos about the importance of voting.
