“Human relationships always help us to carry on because they always presuppose further developments, a future – and also because we live as if our only task was precisely to have relationships with other people.”

-Albert Camus

If New Jersey politics is a business rooted in relationships, we can all look to the future of Bergen’s Democratic leadership, trying to guess who might be standing in line to ascend to the throne that is Chair of the BCDO.

While Lou Stellato continues to offer steady leadership and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast, politicos from all over the north continue to whisper the names of their preferred successors, namely Todd Sherer and Paul Juliano.

Sherer, the former Paramus Councilman, who now resides in Mahwah, has his own cadre of followers, which meet regularly for communal breakfasts.

Juliano, former Fairview Dem Chairman and DPW Superintendent fame has a stronghold in committee member-rich southeast Bergen.

Advantage: Juliano.

Stay tuned.
