Messenger to Retire as ED of the Assembly Majority Office

The Freeholder fight unites more than it delights.

Mary Messenger, the veteran executive director of the Assembly Majority Office, will retire in December, legislators learned in caucus this morning.

Names started kicking around some time ago as possible replacements.

They include Laurie McCabe, who runs Speaker-elect Craig Coughlin’s LD19 office.

Another name in the mix is Mickey Quinn, the veteran COS of Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-6).
