Today, Michael Roth, Democratic candidate for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, announced Hilary Caldwell as his campaign manager for his bid to unseat Tom Kean Jr. in the 2026 midterm election.

Caldwell brings years of experience on competitive and battleground campaigns in addition to a background in union and advocacy organizing and communications strategy to the high profile race.

Notably, Caldwell has managed winning campaigns in a swing legislative district; first during the 2022 midterms where she delivered a historic 10+ point win in a brand-new and nationally targeted district which flipped control of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to a Democratic majority for the first time in over a decade; then in 2024 where her campaign dramatically overperformed the top of the ticket in an environment where Democrats suffered significant losses across the state and country.

Caldwell is excited to bring her expertise, energy, and work ethic to elect Michael Roth so the people of New Jersey’s 7th congressional district have a candidate who can unseat Tom Kean Jr. next November and get real results for the district on day one in office.
