Statement from Communications Director Mahen Gunaratna
“Lieutenant Governor Oliver is currently receiving medical care at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston and is unable to discharge the duties of Acting Governor at this time. Pursuant to Article V, Section I, paragraph 7 of the New Jersey Constitution, Senate President Scutari has assumed the duties of Acting Governor effective this morning. We wish the Lieutenant Governor well as she undergoes medical care. We will provide updates to the situation as they arise.”

Friday, July 28, 2023 – Sunday, August 13, 2023
On the evening of Friday, July 28, Governor Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy will travel out of state on personal travel. They will return to New Jersey on the afternoon of Sunday, August 13.
Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver will serve as Acting Governor during this time.

“Pursuant to Constitutional mandates, I have again assumed the responsibilities of Acting Governor with a commitment to faithfully discharge the duties of the Office. 
“I want to extend my best wishes to Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver for a rapid and healthy recovery. We look forward to her return.”

  1. over 200-years without a Lt Governor and suddenly New jersey can not live without one. More scams by the ruling class to keep the peasants in line.

    Murphy is no better then the whale Christie who vacations where the peons can not afford to go.

    60+ years of increased taxation (without representation) – higherst property taxes, highest gasoline tax (thanks again to the whale) highest income tax, highest sales tax and murphy is taking in more and more illegals making our roads dangerous.

  2. The New Jersey La Cosa Nostra still exists. While the Capo Governor is off at his Villa in Italia, the Lt. Gov. is incognito. We have the real Mafia Don taking over now. Maybe he’ll send his hitmen over to the Villa like the Godfather movie.

    New Jersey hasn’t changed much in the over 60 years I’ve lived here. The Italians run the North part of the state and the Irish run the South part of the state.
