Over 400 Students Gather for Third Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service Spearheaded By Freeholder Zur

Insider NJ gives results for several 2019 Primary Elections in Bergen County.

A 501c3 founded by Freeholder Tracy Silna Zur in 2016 to combat divisive rhetoric and encourage unity will be having their third annual day of service. In 2018, 200 students participated, this year, over 400 will. The students will come from various geographic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds as a result of a diverse and robust community outreach program.

Students will engage in various community service projects including creating dog toys for the Bergen County Animal Shelter and blankets for senior citizens, as well as assembling hygiene kits for residents at the Bergen County Shelter, activity bags for children in hospitals, go bags got CASA and Center for Hope and Safety.

Primary sponsors of the event include Inserra Supermarkets, BCB Bank of Rutherford, Bergen Community College, Kenneth Cole, Spark Freight Services, and the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey.
