Addiego Named To Transportation Committee, Will Continue on Budget Panel
TRENTON – Senate President Steve Sweeney announced that Senator Dawn M. Addiego will serve on the Senate Transportation Committee and will continue as a member of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.
“Senator Addiego has been a strong and forceful advocate on transportation issues, which are so critical to the state’s economy and our quality of life,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “She has also demonstrated informed leadership on fiscal and economic policies that are so vital at this time. Her continued service on the budget committee will be a real benefit to the Senate and the State of New Jersey.”
Senator Addiego served on the Economic and Fiscal Policy Workgroup, the bipartisan study group that analyzed financial and operational practices in state and local government and issued its “Path To Progress” report with recommended reforms.
“I recognize the severity of the fiscal challenges that confront us and I fully understand the imperative of making the reforms needed to restore fiscal responsibility and promote economic opportunity,” said Senator Addiego (D-Burlington). “Serving on both the transportation and budget committees will give me the ability to address some of the most important priorities for the residents of the Eighth District and the people of New Jersey. Transportation and economic policies will help shape our future.”
Senator Addiego represents the 8th Legislative District.
