Amy DeGise: Stack Would Have Violated HCDO Bylaws by Endorsing Chris Christie in 2013 if he was Chair

JERSEY CITY, NJ — According to the bylaws of the Hudson County Democratic Organization, all party officers must pledge “to support only Democratic candidates for office.” That would have been a big problem for Brian Stack if he were HCDO Chairman in 2013 — he not only endorsed Republican Governor Chris Christie, he hosted rallies for the Governor in Union City and attacked Democratic candidate Barbara Buono relentlessly. Brian Stack would have been forced to resign as Chair because of his support for Christie. It’s another reason why he’s the wrong choice for HCDO Chair!

Amy DeGise for HCDO Chair is releasing a video showing Christie’s blatant support for Christie, including leading a chant of “Christie! Christie! Christie!” at a rally:

“Hudson County deserves a progressive Democrat to lead the HCDO, not a Christiecrat who sold out our party and our values to support Chris Christie,” said DeGise. “Brian Stack’s support for Christie was a betrayal of everything our party is about, and Stack calling Christie ‘the greatest Governor we’ve ever had’ is absolutely nauseating. This is a Governor who attacked public employees, defunded public schools and transit and lied to all of us in the Bridgegate scandal. Someone who supported Chris Christie is not the kind of leader we need for the HCDO.”
