Assemblywoman Pintor Marin on Murphy Budget Address

Insider NJ editor Max Pizarro gives an analysis of how the NJ Legislature's passage of the NJ 2020 budget bill by the Assembly is out of character for their supposed closeness to the mood and wants of those they represent, as well as how both Democrat and Republican representatives reacted to the vote.

Assemblywoman Pintor Marin on Murphy Budget Address

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin (D-Essex), Budget Committee Chair, issued the following statement Tuesday following Gov. Phil Murphy’s Fiscal Year 2020 budget address:

“The budget the governor proposed represents a strong starting point. As Assembly Budget chair, I can promise the committee will pour over the Governor’s proposal to determine how taxpayer money should be allocated, but also to look first at government efficiencies. I am happy the Governor agrees with the Legislature and did not include a Sales Tax increase, and I am confident that in the end we will have a budget that reflects our priority of making our state more affordable.”
