McKnight Receives Humanitarian Politician Award

(JERSEY CITY) – In honor of her contributions to Jersey City, Assemblywoman Angela McKnight on Feb. 25 received the Jersey City African-American Humanitarian Politician Award.

The award, presented by the Chosen Generation Ministerial Alliance during the city’s Black History Month luncheon, goes to an elected official dedicated to promoting the public welfare in Jersey City.

“While I am grateful for the recognition, my focus never has been on receiving a reward but rather on doing the hard work it takes to deliver results on behalf of Jersey City residents,” said McKnight (D-Hudson). “From making sure our senior citizens have healthy meals to helping young people understand personal finance and so much more, it is a great joy to be able to serve Jersey City, Hudson County and the entire state of New Jersey.”

McKnight is the founder and CEO of AngelaCARES, a non-profit organization that serves senior citizens, their caregivers and youth in Hudson County.
