Atlantic City Adding Signage to Dog Waste Stations to Urge Residents to Utilize Them
Atlantic City, N.J. (January 26, 2023) – The City of Atlantic City Department of Public Works is in the process of adding signage to dog waste stations at every park throughout the city, in hopes of drawing more attention to these stations to encourage residents to utilize them.
The first signage was set up in Horace J Bryant Park earlier this week. All parks are expected to have signs at each station by early Spring.
“Residents need to have pride in our parks, and cleaning up after your pet is a great way to show that pride,” said Public Works director Crystal Lewis. “We’ve heard the complaints that owners are leaving pet waste on the ground, and to address this matter, we’re trying to do what we can to provide our residents with the proper tools. Pet waste runoff into storm drains is a concern of ours, but that can easily be fixed through proper disposal.”
The Department of Public Works is also in the process of purchasing additional biodegradable bags for each dog waste station.
