Today is National Transit Operator Appreciation Day, and the Amalgamated Transit Union NJ State Council salutes our Transit Operators not only for the vital service they perform, but for the many extra acts of help and kindness they perform every day.

ATU also recognizes maintenance personnel and others who support transit operators for their hard and often unappreciated work each day getting riders safely to and from one place to another and for many other vital daily tasks.

If you haven’t thanked your transit operator recently – today would be a great day to do so.

We commend the professionalism that our ATU members and other transit workers bring to the job, and join our passengers in thanking them for the great work that they do safely moving nearly one million daily commuters across NJ and within our Tri-State region.
