Benedetti Sr. Elected Ewing Township Democratic Chair
Ewing, NJ – At their 2020 Municipal Reorganization meeting, the Ewing Township Democratic
Committee selected Carl Benedetti Sr. as its new Chairman. Benedetti succeeds longtime
Chairman Robert Dorio, who retired after 16 years at the helm.
“I look forward to working with Carl Benedetti Sr. as Ewing’s new Municipal Democratic Chair,”
said Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann. “His energy and commitment to Ewing and the party have
been evident over the last several years, and he is an excellent choice.”
Benedetti was selected by the committee via acclimation, without opposition.
“The Ewing Democratic Committee will continue to be an inclusive organization, with strong
focus on recruiting young, diverse talent to be our future Democratic leaders,” Benedetti said.
“We look forward to tremendous success, up and down the ticket, from re-electing our 3
council members, to electing Joe Biden as President, in November.”
Along with Benedetti, the committee re-elected Mary Corrigan as Vice Chair and Janelle Hill as
Secretary. Newly elected officer Lawrence Ganges will serve as Treasurer. Benedetti had
previously served as Treasurer for the last several years.
“I’d like to congratulate Carl Benedetti Sr. on his election as Ewing Township Democratic
Chairman,” Assemblyman Anthony Verrelli (D-15) said. “I know he will continue the legacy of
success established under Chairman Dorio. I look forward to working with him in the future.”
Benedetti Sr. is the father of longtime Ewing School Board member, Carl Benedetti Jr.
