Brewers Guild of New Jersey’s Response to Governor’s Veto of A-4525/S-3128

“The membership of the Brewers Guild of New Jersey is disappointed in the veto of this legislation aimed at sustaining jobs and giving restaurants and the manufacturers of craft alcoholic beverages a firmer footing in these dire economic times. Assembly Bill  4525 / Senate Bill 3128 provided a longer-term, predictable and affordable methodology whereby homegrown local business could attempt to better manage the financial impact of the pandemic and set a course for recovery which could take years to accomplish. Going forward, and in line with what we believe to be Governor Murphy’s sincere interest in supporting the makers of craft beer and our industry’s retail partners, we will continue to work with his Administration and our tireless advocates in the New Jersey Legislature to come up with workable, impactful solutions which take into account both the Governor’s concerns and what breweries and brewpubs will absolutely need to survive in 2021 and beyond.” – Eric Orlando, Executive Director, Brewers Guild of New Jersey
