After Surpassing $1 Million Raised, Varela’s Coalition Now Includes Six NJ-07 Assembly Nominees and 2 Former County Chairs

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Congressional candidate Brian Varela today announced a major new wave of endorsements from Democratic leaders across Hunterdon County, marking another milestone for a campaign that has raised over $1 million since launching in April.

The diverse slate includes LD-23 Assembly candidates Guy Citron and Tyler Powell, joining fellow Democratic nominees from LD-24 and LD-25 in backing Varela. In total, six of the fourteen Democratic Assembly nominees across NJ-07 have endorsed his campaign—a clear sign of its growing reach and momentum.

Varela has now earned 33 endorsements from Democratic leaders across NJ-07—including six previously announced from Hunterdon County—and has received support from more than 2,100 individual contributors. His campaign continues to build a district-wide coalition in one of the most closely watched congressional races in the nation.

Among the newest supporters is Guy Citron, Democratic Assembly candidate for LD-23, who called Varela “the clear choice to take on Tom Kean Jr. and represent New Jersey.”
