Capital Health along with Princeton University and the Brain Injury Alliance of NJ Presents: The Changing Landscape of Concussion

WHERE: Princeton University, Taylor Auditorium/Frick Atrium/Chemistry Building

 

WHAT:  The Changing Landscape of Concussion symposium will focus on the changing concept of concussion and evolving research that suggest potentially more serious and long lasting consequences surrounding this injury. Internationally renowned researches and clinical providers will present information that may alter how a young athlete with a concussion is evaluated and treated and provide background for additional research.   • Key note speaker, Ann McKee, MD, Chief of Neuropathology Service, VA Boston, Director, CTE Center, Associate Director, Boston University, Alzheimer’s’ Disease Center, Professor of Neurology and Pathology Boston University School of Medicine.
  • Emil L. Matarese, MD, Director of the Concussion Program at Capital Health Institute of Neuroscience, Capital Health.
  • Annegret Dettwiler-Danspeckgruber, EdD, MS, Principal Investigator, Neuroscience of Traumatic Brain Injury Laboratory, Princeton Neuroscience Institute, Princeton University.
  • James M. Noble, MD, MS, CPH, FAAN, Associate Professor of Neurology at CUMC, Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain.
  • Katharine Holmes, B.A., Past and Present Olympian Fencer, Research Assistant at the Neuroscience of Traumatic Brain Injury Laboratory, Princeton Neuroscience Institute, Princeton University. Ms. Holmes will compete in the next summer Olympics.
