CIANJ’s Statement On The Introduction of ‘Protect Daniel’s Law Act’
November 17th, 2025 (Rochelle Park) — The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) fully supports the original intent and spirit of Daniel's Law, and our members recognize the critical importance of protecting our judges, law enforcement, other public servants, and their families.
"Businesses want to comply with Daniel's Law, but recent changes passed by the Legislature have made it incredibly challenging, if not impossible and despite their best intentions and good-faith efforts. The result has led to hundreds of predatory lawsuits seeking billions in damages that unfairly threaten to put many companies trying to do the right thing out of business” comments Anthony Russo, CIANJ President.
Russo states, "The ‘Protect Daniel's Law Act’ creates a transparent and streamlined authentication process that will make it easier for businesses to comply with Daniel's Law requests and thereby strengthen its protections for covered persons. We urge the Legislature to move quickly to pass this bill to ensure Daniel's Law works for everyone.”
