Trenton, NJ -- The City of Trenton will hold a press conference on Friday, February 27, at 11:00 AM to officially announce the launch of a $1.35 million rehabilitation project at the Reading Senior Center, located at 15 Ringold Street, Trenton, NJ. The project is funded through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds with supplemental support from Mercer County American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds.
Mayor W. Reed Gusciora will join City Council members, Mercer County officials, and community stakeholders to discuss the restart of this investment benefiting Trenton’s senior and low- to moderate-income residents.
Originally renovated several years ago and more than 90% complete, the project was halted after the building was broken into and vandalized in February 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The press conference will provide details on the scope of work, project timeline, the impact the completed center will have on seniors, and the City’s vision for programming and services at the facility moving forward.
Members of the media are invited to attend. Interviews and photo opportunities will be available following remarks.
