Civil Service and City of Trenton Coordinate Virtual Information Session
Effort to Promote Careers in State and Local Government

TRENTON – In order to promote careers in State and local government, the New Jersey Civil Service Commission (CSC) is scheduled to host a virtual information session with the City of Trenton on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Residents are encouraged to attend this free presentation which will include an hour-long overview of how to apply for State and local government jobs. Representatives will also be present to answer questions pertaining to the application process and provide resource materials.

“As we coordinate this information session with the City of Trenton, we are thrilled to promote open jobs within State and local government to interested candidates” said Deirdré L. Webster Cobb, Esq., Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Civil Service Commission. “By presenting these information sessions, it allows us to provide resources and services to highlight that the State of New Jersey is the employer of choice.”

The City of Trenton’s Mayor Reed Gusciora stated of the information session, “The Civil Service Commission provides a variety of career opportunities to the Capital City, which is home not just to our own municipal government but to numerous state and county government agencies. Residents can apply for these long-term jobs offering competitive pay and benefits – within the boundaries of their hometown. I’m grateful to the CSC for hosting this information session, and I encourage city residents to participate and apply for an exciting career in state or local government.”

“Our virtual information sessions are a way for us to inform people about the great opportunities that are available on the state, county and local levels,” said Dr. Charlie Williams, Executive Director of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Programs. “These information sessions allow us to answer questions or concerns job seekers may have about how to apply for state government positions.”
