William Sproule, Executive Secretary-Treasurer for the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, today announced the endorsement of Christine McGrath, Abdur Yasin, Shawn Klein, and Wayne Richardson for Essex County Commissioner At-Large, along with Wilson Pichardo, A'Dorian Murray-Thomas, Medinah Muhammad, Len Luciano, and Carlos Pomares for District Commissioner.

“Essex County continues to move forward because of strong partnerships between labor, local government, and community leaders who understand the importance of creating opportunities for working families,” said Sproule. “Christine McGrath, Abdur Yasin, Shawn Klein, and Wayne Richardson, along with Wilson Pichardo, A'Dorian Murray-Thomas, Medinah Muhammad, Len Luciano, and Carlos Pomares, are leaders who will fight for economic growth, good union jobs, safe communities, and continued investment in the future of Essex County.”

Sproule praised the candidates for their commitment to public service and their understanding of the role organized labor plays in strengthening local communities.

“These candidates recognize that when labor succeeds, Essex County succeeds,” Sproule continued. “They understand the importance of investing in infrastructure, supporting apprenticeship and workforce development programs, and ensuring that working men and women have a seat at the table. We are confident they will work collaboratively to continue building a stronger, more prosperous Essex County for everyone.”

Chairman LeRoy J. Jones Jr. added, "On behalf of our Essex County Commissioner candidates and the entire Essex County Democratic team, I want to sincerely thank William Sproule and the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters for their endorsement and continued partnership. Organized labor has always been the backbone of Essex County — building our communities, strengthening our middle class, and fighting every day for working families. We are proud to stand alongside the men and women of labor who understand that progress happens when we all work together toward a common goal."
