Congestion Pricing Now Issues Statement On New Jersey Congressional Delegation’s Proposal

New York, NY – The most recent legislation introduced by New Jersey elected officials is a reckless effort that will only make travel more difficult for millions of New York and New Jersey commuters.

Congestion pricing is essential to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce carbon emissions across the entire region, and improve public transit. It is essential to recognize that the overwhelming majority of New Jersey commuters who work in Manhattan rely on public transit in both states.

Rather than opposing this critically needed program, we hope the New Jersey delegation can support the benefits that congestion pricing will have for their constituents who rely on public transit and focus on improving public transit and implementing emissions reductions measures in their own state.
