Congressman Kim to Hold Second Annual Veterans Day Telephone Town Hall

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) announced that he will be holding a Veterans Day Telephone Town Hall at 5:00pm on Wednesday, November 11th. This will be the second Veterans Day Town Hall held by the Congressman and will be organized in conjunction with Ocean County College to lift up the voices and stories of local veterans. This will be the Congressman’s 27th town hall since being sworn into office in January 2019.

The event will start at 5:00pm with a recorded program by Ocean County College that can be watched by clicking here. Viewers can then join a question and answer session with the Congressman and local veterans online by clicking here.

“Veterans Day isn’t just about celebrating the contributions of veterans to our country, it’s about lifting up their voices and recognizing the issues they face every day,” said Congressman Kim. “I want to thank Ocean County College for collaborating on this effort to highlight veterans in our community. I look forward to hearing from those who sacrificed so much to serve, and hope everyone takes time out on Veterans Day to thank the men and women who keep this country safe.”

In July, Congressman Kim held a veterans’ focused telephone town hall where he was joined by chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Congressman Mark Takano (CA-41). The two congressmen discussed issues impacting the veterans’ community including access to health care and job opportunities during the Coronavirus crisis.

Congressman Kim has been a leading advocate for New Jersey’s veterans, working to hold the VA accountable for their failure to bring a new veterans’ health care facility to Ocean County, and introducing bipartisan legislation to protect veterans from VA errors and help veterans identify employment opportunities during their transition to civilian life.

Congressman Kim is a member of the bipartisan House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis, where he serves as one of twelve members of the House tasked with conducting oversight over programs aimed at ending the Coronavirus pandemic and helping address the economic impact it’s having on the American people. Congressman Kim is also a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business.
